Step By Step with Pascale!

Hello Sweeties, Today I'm up of My Creative Scrapbook with another layout made with the April's Limited Edition kit.
I primed the background with clear gesso. When dry, I added different paints that I watered down to obtain a watercolor effect.
While the background was drying, I die cut a few leaves on a watercolor paper.
I paint the chipboard and the leaves with the Raven Black Sparks.
I cut a few scrap of paper that I layered under the photo with some Ephemera. Then I added the flowers and the leaves.
I finished with microbeads, glass glitter, glass beads and sequins.

Come Check Out Maja's Scrapbook Room!

Hello everyone :)
Today I'd like to invite you to the place where I spend my creative time. My craftroom is really tiny, but I love it nonetheless and I'm happy I can have it just for myself, no need to share ;) Well, it's actually so small that sharing would be rather impossible, it's even difficult to take photos of the inside - but do feel welcome and come in!

Yes, it's that small :) And I usually need to keep it tidy as there's no door, I didn't want to waste the space. I wanted to make the most of the little room I have and thus many drawers and shelves. Ikea white furniture seems quite popular with scrappers worldwide, and I'm no different ;) Their drawers and shelves are really great. I chose the glass-door showcases to give the room a sense of lightness, and to avoid mess I keep my stuff in boxes and d-ring binders.

The boxes on top contain, apart from embellishments, also cards and notebooks I made as I create for sale too. In the binders you can see on the shelves I store my stamps, stickers and rubons.

And here's how I store stamps: I place them on thick acetate binding covers and slide into transparent pockets. Tip: to avoid cutting the pockets, round  the lower corners of the acetate sheets with a corner punch :)

The next two shelves contain my papers and DT boxes, 6x6 paper pads, BIA wires and my Biggie :) I also keep some of my layouts in the large white box on top:

The right side of the room is the work area. I built my desk using various pieces of the Alex drawer system, a Hemnes desk add-on unit, a 2 m kitchen top and white wall shelves:

I spotted these cute tins in some cheap this-and-that store - they contain mini roses organised by colours:

Here's a close look on the shelving construction ;) You can see a collection of my season-themed paper-mache houses as well as cards and tags by my crafty friends. Tin cars contain flair buttons, below them I placed my collection of Tim Holtz stamps. Boxes store various small embellies:

Here is my media work place ;) In the smal drawer organizers I keep brads and buttons. Above you can see my stash of dye inks. There's also my first diecutting machine, the good ol' raspberry Spellbinders :)

Another step to the right and...you're out of the room :)
I've been loving this space for about 6 years now, and it started a cappucino brown:

...but last year I fell in love with these babies:

..and had no choice but to adapt the rest of the room! LOL Which version do you like more?

Thank you very much for visiting my little creative escape :-)

Basketweave with Marielle!

Hello My Creative Scrapbook fans, Marielle here sharing how I created the basket weave background for my layout.

Family Wedding
This photo was taken last Summer at my niece's wedding. These folks are my parents ,sister and brother.
I'm the only one with dark hair !!!

Here's a step by step tutorial on how to create this fun textured background.

Step 1- You will need to cut multiple 1/2" X 12 strips from 2 sheets of white cardstock (or color of your choice).

Step 2- Line up 19 strips of cardstock  vertically.

Step 3- Tape bottom edge of paper strips to your work space.

Step 4- Starting at the top, weave a strip of paper horizontally over one strip then under one and repeat . Slide strip to bottom (taped edge). The next row you will weave the strip under then over, repeat making sure the edges line up.

Step 5- Once you have achieved your desired size of weaved background paper, flip it over and bend and glue the small ends. My finished piece is 10 1/2" X 11". You can also machine stitch the edges ,if desired.

Step 6- Adhere to floral patterned paper. Add a few other layers of patterned papers to the left side of layout.

Step 7- Add matted photo, title and tag under the photo. I ended up machine stitching the title unto the layout.

Step 8- Add a few embellishments ,die cuts and journaling to complete your layout.

I sure hope that you have enjoyed today's tutorial and to give it a try on your next project.
Happy crafting!
Marielle

Layout Step By Step with Yvette!

Hi Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm going to share with you how quickly and easily this layout came together using the April Main Kit!

I started with a 12x12 black cardstock for my base.

I was inspired by the cute cameras on the Little By Little collection by Shimelle and it teamed up perfectly with the small heart design pattern paper from the Oh My Heart collection by Pink Paislee.

For my first layer I cut the 12x12 patterned paper on a diagonal, which created a triangle and then adhered to my cardstock.

For my second layer I added a smallest triangle to the top and off the sides, added another to the lower right corner and then machine stitched around the perimeter.

From this point on I started adding my embellishments...I adhered my photo with some foam tape underneath to give it some extra dimension.
I created a small cluster on the right side of my photo using a couple pieces of chipboard from the Lovely Day collection, along with a tag and the die cut word joy from the Creative Embellishments set.

To the top of my photo I added another one of the die cut word dream which also came in the  Creative Embellishments set and to the bottom left corner of my photo I created another small cluster using a couple pieces of chipboards.

I used the grow through life phase with a flower from the Pink Paislee-Oh My Heart ephemera pack to create my title and I finished my layout off by adding a few white enamel dots!

Thanks for stopping by :) xoxo Yvette

I hope I inspired you to create something beautiful....using the April main kit from My Creative Scrapbook
